As we scale globally, we will expand our leadership team with a dedicated Legal & Compliance Manager to formalise our frameworks and strengthen client trust.

The Role

The Legal & Compliance Manager will be responsible for overseeing Kenai’s legal, regulatory, and contractual frameworks. You’ll manage contracts and SLAs with clients and partners, ensure compliance with global privacy and data protection standards, and guide the company’s governance practices as we expand into new markets. This is a future hire role, planned as we reach the next stage of scale.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage contracts, SLAs, and vendor agreements across enterprise clients and partners.
  • Guide compliance frameworks including SOC2 Type II, POPIA, GDPR, HIPAA (where relevant), and banking regulations.
  • Advise leadership and the board on regulatory risk and governance.
  • Collaborate with security and product teams to ensure compliance is embedded into platform design.
  • Lead audits and certifications, working with external auditors and regulators.
  • Develop policies and training to strengthen compliance culture across the company.

Requirements

  • Qualified legal professional (LLB or equivalent).
  • 5+ years’ experience in legal, compliance, or regulatory roles.
  • Strong knowledge of data protection, privacy, and security frameworks.
  • Experience negotiating enterprise SaaS contracts and SLAs.
  • Ability to balance commercial pragmatism with regulatory obligations.

Nice to Have

  • Prior experience in enterprise SaaS, fintech, or security technology.
  • Familiarity with physical security, identity, or access control industries.
  • Experience liaising with regulators or industry associations.
